Convivial Dinners

Are you getting tired of your own cooking?  Trying to stay away from grocery stores? Struggling to pay for groceries?  We are offering a Covid variation on our Convivial Dinners starting Wednesday April 1.  (April Fool’s Day! There WILL be dinner!  It is NOT a joke!! 🙂

Dinners will include main, salad, dessert and coffee/tea/cold drink.  Dinners are free or $5 or $10 or $20 (Lasagna) or $25 (Roast Beef), depending on your current circumstances.  We are using a pay-it-forward model.  This means you can accept a free/inexpensive dinner now and do a favour for someone else in the future.  (More thoughts on pricing.)

Reservations can be made by texting 604-679-4564, emailing convivialcafe@gmail.com, phoning 604-675-9885 or dropping in a the cafe.   Where possible, advance payments will be appreciated as this will help decrease crowding at pick-up.  Payments can be made by e-transfer (to above address) or in person.  The latter will include a donation jar for (anonymous) cash payments.

Dinners can be picked up at the cafe between 5:30 and 6 or, if you are self-isolating, we have volunteers willing to deliver.

Please pass this information on to people who are stuck at home and/or struck with financial challenges.   The main point of these dinners is that neighbours facing hard times get a little respite.
(If appropriate, you could even just give us a name(s) and an address and dinner could show up as a surprise…)
